Adding games

Husk’s library is APKs (and a few other package layouts) plus, on iOS 17.4+, PS4 games.

Android

Share an APK to Husk, open it from Files, or use + in the app.

Accepted:

  • .apk
  • split bundles: .xapk, .apkm, .apks
  • Play downloads that arrive as several split APKs and asset packs

The package needs 64-bit (arm64-v8a) native code. An APK that is only 32-bit cannot run on iPhone.

What runs is tracked on the compatibility list (JIT and JIT-less separately). Unity, Unreal 4, Godot, cocos2d-x, SDL, GameActivity and a few first-party engines are the translation-layer path. Java-only apps use Husk’s Android runtime or full emulation.

PlayStation 4

On iOS 17.4 or later, add a fake package (.pkg) or a game folder with +. PS4 games need JIT.

One game at a time

One translation-layer game runs per launch. To switch, use Close Husk to Play on the other game’s page; the next open starts that game.

Saves can be backed up to a .zip from the game’s page and restored later.

Husk is GPL-2.0-or-later. App names belong to their owners.
